When and how did I get here?

I asked myself that when I turned 65. So, I know that making a Medicare decision can be a confusing task.

I received all the same information that you did. It really didn’t help me make a decision.

First you should know…

  • ‘‘We do not offer every plan available in your area. Any information we provide is limited to those plans we do offer in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or call 1–800–MEDICARE to get information on all of your options.’’
  • A couple of handbooks available to you… “Click Here”
  • To assist in my discussion with you about Medicare. I follow Ohio’s Medicare 101 booklet. Here’s a link to the Ohio booklet: “Click here”.
Also, the last page of the booklet offers useful phone numbers and websites to additional resources available to you from many government agencies, organizations and health agencies.

STOP the PHONE CALLS!

Please know that Medicare considers unsolicited phone calls to be a “Prohibited Practice” So if you didn’t authorize contact, they are violating the most basic rule of Medicare.

Why would you do business with them? They can not and do not offer anything more than local agents do. Additionally, local agents know the local networks available to you better than anyone not from here.

The best way to stop the calls is don’t talk to them. Don’t do business with them!

Isn’t there someone that I can talk to?

Yes, that’s exactly why we’re here! This site is a resource to you. It’s All About You and the Medicare choices and options you have available to you.

Oh By The Way, You must provide permission for anyone to contact you about Medicare. So those phone calls you’ve been receiving. Tell them “I didn’t give you permission to call me. Do it again and I’ll turn you in” And you can jot down their number and file a complaint to CMS or the Ohio Department of Insurance. How about that?
